Jason Yee

Special guest

Jason Yee is a Staff Technical Advocate at Datadog, where he runs a technical storytelling team - talking Datadog’s own engineers, directors and executives into telling their stories on stage, and then doing much of the writing so they have a draft to argue with rather than a blank page. He is also one of three global co-chairs of DevOpsDays and has been involved with it for over ten years, starting when he was unemployed and they needed someone to do the web work; he helps organise the Portland event, which returns in September 2026 for the first time since 2021. Before this he was Director of Advocacy at Gremlin, where he hosted the Break Things On Purpose podcast, and before that a community manager at O’Reilly Media and an engineer at MongoDB. He has given several Ignite talks at DevOpsDays Amsterdam, one of which was a DevOps children’s book in the style of Nijntje, read aloud in his own bad Dutch. He lives in Portland and likes whiskey.
