Lin Sun

Lin Sun is Head of Open Source at Solo.io, where she leads the open source projects the company creates and donates - among them kagent, which she co-created, and agentgateway. She was one of the most recent KubeCon + CloudNativeCon program co-chairs, giving the keynote in Amsterdam in front of 13,000 people with a live drone demo, and is doing it again in Salt Lake City. She is an emeritus member of the CNCF Technical Oversight Committee, a CNCF Ambassador, and an Ambassador for the Agentic AI Foundation, where she also sits on program committees for AgentCon and MCPCon North America. She has been in the industry for 25 years and in open source for 20 of them, working on Istio since its early days - first at IBM, then at Solo - and is a maintainer on Istio, kgateway and kagent. She wrote “AI Agents on Kubernetes”, which Solo gives away from its homepage and refreshes roughly once a year because the space moves too fast to do otherwise.
