Rick Clark is Global Head of Cloud Advisory at UST. He co-founded OpenStack, was the founding lead of Ubuntu Server, and wrote the Four Opens, the governance principles OpenStack was built on. He has worked on both sides of the table, including time at MasterCard, and now advises large enterprises on what they have to fix before AI is worth attempting. He writes The Construct, a newsletter on agentic workloads in production, and published his first op-ed for The Stack in August 2026, arguing that tokenomics measures consumption rather than value.
